Meet Dana (Owner & Instructor):
I walked into my first mom and baby fitness class as a new mom 11 years ago. By the end of the class I was asking the instructor how and when I could start teaching! A few months later I was certified by SCW and have been teaching ever since. It has become my passion to help moms realize and reach their postpartum fitness goals. I have witnessed countless women growing stronger and more confident through fitness programs like mine. I’ve also seen lifelong friendships form between moms.
I am a native Ohioan who fell in love with New York City as a college student. I launched a career in fashion merchandising in the city before returning to the Midwest for my husband’s job, where I had our first two sons. We came back to the East Coast several years ago and I love the energy and support of this community. It’s a great place to be a mom!
I am proud mom to Jack (11), Evan (9) and Max (1 1/2). I can’t wait to help you on your postpartum journey at Strong as a Mother!

Meet Tara (Instructor):
I grew up right here in Cranford, NJ and attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. where I earned my B.S. in Psychology. After graduating, I got a job with AIG in Manhattan and started a career in the insurance industry where I worked until shortly after having my first daughter in 2010. I live in Mountainside with my husband Rick, our three daughters and our dog Preston.
I always been active and into physical fitness so after taking indoor cycling classes for a few years I decided to get my Spin Certification. I have been teaching indoor cycling at Wheel House in Garwood, NJ for the past twelve years. Cycling is my favorite form of cardio and since it’s so low impact I was able to do it all the way to the end of all three of my pregnancies. I also attained my AFAA group fitness certification and since having my children my true passion is teaching fitness and helping my clients get the best workout and smash their goals. I also like to work out when I’m not teaching and am addicted to barre, hot yoga and jogging with my youngest two kids in the park. My bucket list goal is to run a half marathon!
I found Strong as a Mother in early 2017 shortly after having my third baby and I love the sense of community and belonging. It’s like a support group and a boot camp class all rolled into one! My girls love coming with me to class whether it’s inside at the gym or outside at Unami Park. My best and most rewarding job is being a mom to Elyse (7), Gemma (4 and 1/2) and Eve (17 months). I love that my children get to see not just me, but lots of others moms, working hard to be strong and healthy.

Meet Lacey (Instructor):
I live in Westfield with my husband, Matt, and our two daughters, 3-year-old Madelyn and 9-month-old Devyn.
I earned a BS in Chemistry from the College of New Jersey. I then transitioned to the Human Resources field and spent several years in HR and Recruiting. After the birth of my first daughter, I decided to stay at home. I was always into health and fitness, but my passion was once again ignited when I started attending mommy-and-me fitness classes in Hoboken when Madelyn was just 7 weeks old. The classes gave me the physical challenge and social interaction I needed after such a huge life change. I quickly decided that I wanted to provide that outlet and support to other expecting and new moms. I became an ACE-certified personal trainer and began instructing those classes in Hoboken.
I recently moved to Westfield and am ecstatic that I found a similar class and some amazing mamas now that I have another little one. I am so excited to join the Strong as a Mother team!
